Community Service is designed to help students find a passionate way to serve others. People who help and serve others are happier people and the world is a better place when people help others. We encourage students to try new ways to serve and to create ways that no one has done before. Community service is working for others without getting paid. (Helping around the house, or the grandparent's house, or babysitting cousins, is NOT community service, rather being part of a family.)
Students can contact volunteer organizations, plan and develop drives, volunteer in church or place of worship, help elderly neighbors or single moms and dads, or pick up trash in the neighborhood. The opportunities to serve are endless.
Download the log sheet below for your grade and get started. Remember the STUDENT, not parent, should complete the log sheet. Students must have the adult supervisor of the service project sign the log sheet. Be sure to read carefully and fill out the log sheet completely.
